Chrysippus Stoic teachings
Chrysippus: A good is not enlarged by duration. One wise…
A good is not enlarged by duration. One wise moment makes a person no less happy than a lifetime spent wisely.

We often try to possess good experiences instead of receiving them. A peaceful afternoon, a clear decision, or a moment of genuine contentment arrives, and immediately we worry about making it last. That grasping can turn the gift into anxiety. The Stoic reminder is that quality is not measured only by length. If you acted with wisdom in a difficult conversation, that act was complete. If you felt gratitude during a simple meal, it was real even if the feeling later passed. Nothing needs to become permanent in order to matter. This view also keeps us from postponing happiness until an entire life is resolved. Today, allow one good moment to be enough without demanding an extension or guarantee. Notice it fully, act well while it is present, and let it go without resentment when it changes.
